MP3-Player Docking Station

The Atmel docking solutions offer a wide range of direct and remote control interfaces, making integration into existing audio platforms straightforward and easy. Among the supported interfaces are direct control via touch, buttons, potentiometers, and rotary encoders. Remote control is available via I2C, UART, SPI, IR, and RF4CE. Other interfaces can be supported on request. The Atmel digital audio docking solutions feature digital transfer of audio content from the player to the docking station. This is supported over the USB audio class (streaming) or mass storage (file access), which guarantees perfect transmission of the audio from the player to the dock. The docking solution includes high quality decoding and Digital-to-Analog conversion. MP3 and WMA are supported (AAC support is coming soon).

Web Radio

Compare the Atmel web radio solution to traditional radio broadcasting to appreciate the smooth audio streaming and immediate access to radio stations around the world. Digitized and compressed data is extracted from the IP stream and routed trough a decoder for decompression. The decoded PCM data is transmitted to a DAC that reconstructs the analog audio signal to be used to drive an amplifier with attached headphones or loudspeakers.

Headsets and Microphones

Replace medium quality embedded laptop speakers with a set of USB-powered, high quality speakers. The USB port provides both signal and up to 2.5W of power — enough to power a small set of PC speakers. USB audio supports mono, stereo, and multi-channel audio. Voice and sound can also be captured and digitally sent to the PC over the USB. Atmel provides a complete software library (the AVR UC3 software framework), which supports fast and easy development.
